Nepal - Sagamartha Trek - 061 - Ama Dablam

    Newer Older

The impressive peak of Ama Dablam. Ama Dablam was my favorite peak to stare at and photograph.

Its impressive, steep summit invites the mountaineer in me. At 6856m, it is much lower than the mighty 8000ers, but it draws the eye and presents a more interesting climbing objective than many higher summits.

Its distinctive shape made it a useful landmark all along our route and was a peak every trekker was familiar with.

I've put up a photo series (to the right) of the many faces of Ama Dablam as we encircled it along our route. It was different from every angle.
