365: Day 11, Please To Remember The Fifth Of November, 2009
Poor old Milo, the shelter got him from a cat-hoarder's house, as far as I remember we got 19 of her 40 cats. He's had a tough life, and it's been worse for him since his brother Elvis died. But I gave him one of my catnip mice today, and he actually played with it! Usually he just sits there staring into nothing. He's such a handsome boy, I hope he gets his forever home soon.
It's funny being in the USA on Guy Fawkes Day - obviously, no-one celebrates it here & I'm in the mood for a bonfire & fireworks. I always used to make Amaretto-laced cocoa and put it in my thermos before going out to see the council's fireworks display. And I remember building bonfires in the garden when I was small, baking potatoes in the ashes & enjoying all the catherine wheels & sparklers I wanted. Happy Guy Fawkes Day everyone!
Please to remember the Fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot
I see no reason why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot
