I have not been out much with the camera these days... I've been a bit busy... A bit of a slump... A bit lazy... But I do have a few new ideas that I have been planning, and waiting for the right weather. Some things just take time. Patience is something I knew nothing about before I found the world of photography. When I wanted something... I wanted it right then and there. In fact, my patience was so little that I didn't even like buying things on the internet. Anyone that is into outdoor photography will know that this lack of patience will not work. It just simply can't. To be in the right place, at the right time, under the right conditions takes patience. I know I am preaching to the choir here... This is more of a reminder for myself. To be patient, and things will come together.

I look back on this image for a few reasons. Its a image that I had in my mind since the day I first found this pier. The East Bay shores of Richmond California are not far off in the distance, and was a bit of a distraction to the pier. I sat and studied the scene for a few minutes. I knew that a foggy morning would be the best time for this composition, so I filed this area away in my mind, and waited patiently for the right moment. I also look back at this image as reminder of just how fast the weather changes around this area. Just a few minutes before, the two small islands were not visible through the fog. The fog cleared up even more after this image, then rolled back in. The misty blanket moved in so thick, the pier literally disappeared before my eyes.

So now I wait ...
