For over 150 years this is how sugar cane has been harvested in Hawaii. This isn't so much a great photo but a powerful image that captures the magnitude of the wall of flames created by a cane fire. In the lower foreground of the image you can see the green glow of a street traffic light, to give you an idea of how immense and close these fires burn to populated areas.
