A Piece of the Sunset
When I was putting my gear together for my walk tonight, I looked at the sky and noticed the clouds. A good night for a sunset in color, I thought.
So why did I pick the 50mm lens and not a wide-angle?
I'm new to this 50mm lens. It's a manual focus f1.2 lens, and needs some time to learn it's ways. I haven't taken the time, and thought I should take the opportunity to limit myself to using it, even in such a wide-angle walk as I was about to undertake.
Getting out of my comfort zone has benefits, not just in working with a new piece of gear.
If the only path I take is continually the familiar, I'll never know the joy of the new, the unfamiliar, the surprises in life.
So I stretched and learned a bit more about this lens. I'm liking it's color rendition, and the crispness of using it with my dslr's sensor. They seem like a good match for each other.
I took a bunch more, but this is a quick bit of goodness that the sunset gave to me tonight.
