Aerial Los Angeles - the San Gabriel Mountains including Throop Peak and Mt. Baden-Powell, the Angeles Crest Highway, and some of the High Desert from Allegiant Air flight 394
I had occasion to fly from Los Angeles to Grand Junction and was fortunate enough to have the best window seat I've ever had. We took off out over the water from LAX and then looped south and flew directly over the L.A. Basin and the San Gabriel Mountains before heading across the Mojave Desert, over Central Nevada and Southern Utah before touching down in GJ. All in all, it was a great 85 minutes (even though a one-hour delayed departure made me miss a tee time!)
It was especially cool seeing these peaks because I had just hiked from Dawsen Saddle out to Throop Peak and Mt. Hawkins two days earlier. Needless to say, it looks a lot different from up here.
