    Pygmy`s Owls nestlings (Glaucidium passerinum). 22.5.2007, Tornio.

    This year pygmy owls seem to nest quite early. Here 8 full-grown nestlings under mother`s guiding wings and warming belly.

    Shady light, but nestlings at that age are blueish also in reality.

    About nestbox: It is made from wood, thick front wall (about 5 cm) with a hole 46 mm. About 0.5 meter high box. Front wall has to be thick cos it`s the same also in natural nest-holes, maybe because of squirrels etc...
