Picture A Day May 13, 2009 - Springtime Honey Creek Flowers in Comal County
2009 turned out to be a fairly poor year for wildflowers in south Texas. We're in the middle of an extreme drought, short something like 18 inches of rain since the beginning of 2008. Even so, a handful of wildflowers could be found here and there. There was a small patch of mixed flowers along the side of St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Honey Creek, just west of Bulverde in mid-April. This is actually about twenty minutes due north of where I live.
