American Ride

Does this truck look vaguely familiar? Yep, this is the same truck I painted green (two uploads ago). One of the many aspects of light painting that I enjoy is how you can change the essential appearance of something . In this case, I used a red gel and a blue gel to paint the exterior, using a stinger flashlight. I then painted the interior with no gel, and then took out my SB600 strobe and flashed it a couple of times while I stood behind the door, in order to create some shadow-play.

Miguel, Mike, and I had a lot of fun with this truck, and I promise this to be the last image of it to be uploaded here…. unless I go back and do something completely mind blowing.

I named this American Ride because of the red, white and blue colors I used. The other truth is that I've been thinking a lot about what this country means to me, and the helpless feeling I get while watching the political process go on and short change the general public these days. I won't bore y'all with more details, but I just wanted to say that I spend a lot of time worrying about the gradual loss of freedoms and what sort of country my daughters will inherit.

Cheers!
