The Falls of Mt. Diablo

After perilously sliding down the side of a moss covered cliff, I was amazed at the beauty of this small 6 foot tall waterfall which greeted me, and it’s very tropical surroundings. These falls only occure briefly in the springtime and only after rain storms. Timing is everything.

This is a two shot, two stop HDR, which was worked on for around two hours to dial in the natural light and color that I recalled being surrounded by while enjoying this rare sight.

I have been actively trying to reach these rare falls for over three years now, but due to conflicts in scheduling, I have missed being able to do the two hour trek to them until now.

I could have stayed there for hours in this magical oasis. Then it slowly dawned on me that the same treacherous moss covered steep slopes I slid down were waiting for me to try and climb...
