Lighting Essentials - Day 2 - Kathleen

Believe it or not, but this was shot right in front of an interstate. Just behind the flowers was the guard rail. Using strobe to accent late afternoon sun.

Nikon D90 - Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 - 31mm - 1/125 @ f/16 - ISO 100

Nikon SB-900 through shoot through umbrella at full power just above model via VAB (voice-activated boom).

Triggered via Pocket Wizards.

This is the Photoshop-enhanced version of this shot.

Great photo! How did you keep the light from spilling down to her lower torso?
  • Matt DeWitt 6y

It was a very small shoot through umbrella, so it really only lit up the top half of her, and at f/16 it fell off pretty quickly.
