Fine Print - David Pool, Cowboy & German Shepherd Pup

Newer Older

This negative is a FREAK in its ability to print well at any contrast grade, and almost any exposure. One would have to see it in order to believe it. This quality makes it versatile, but difficult to find the optimum settings. For this print, I chose a hard grade contrast in order to print the background white, yet still hold some detail in the felt hat. There was one small background shadow which I dodged out, and the print was enhanced by the use of Sprint® Print brightener. Incidentally, I consider print brightener an essential step in the production of a fine print. Scroll over for printing details.
