Old Kaiser Hospital - Santa Clara

The disused Kaiser Hospital site, now known as "900 Kiely." The city and Fairfield development have grand plans for this prime piece of land. They would like to build 852 housing units here. Never mind that the six story towers would be shoved up almost next to single family homes. Never mind that the housing market is in the toilet and that rental units are widely available right now. And this is not on the major bus routes, has no viable access to Cal-Train or light rail, and that nearby facilities (post office, fire station, schools, even grocery stores and gas stations) are not adequate for 2,000 new residents ... Fairfield wants it, and what a developer wants is always OK in Santa Clara.
