1982 Porsche 911 SC (87,999 miles)

    Newer Older

brought home a new toy today. I've been dreaming about owning a car like this since I was about 18-20 years old. That's over 25 years of dreaming! Now, I finally own one.

I have no interest in the newer 911s (I promise, it's not sour grapes). The only cars I've ever wanted were the mid-80's version (70's are great too, of course).

The car is a "chiffon white" SC Targa model. This car is super well-cared-for. I looked at about a dozen and no other came close. Look at the photo of the engine compartment. Amazing! I hope I can keep as clean as the previous owner(s).

I sat in a Porsche at a dealership while I was waiting for my crap car to get serviced, and that was 25 years ago. It was red and I can still hear the sound the car door made when I closed it. It was like music to my ears. A solid "chunk" It had the build quality of a high performance aircraft. I have flown many.

Yes, they were over-engineered and essentially hand-built. Mine, even at nearly 30 years old, is still amazingly solid.
