‘Bonneyville Picnic’ Painting

This oil-on-canvas painting was made by Emma Schrock, an Old Order Mennonite from Goshen, Indiana. She was given special permission to paint and sell pictures that included depictions of the human form in order to make a living. She never received formal arts training, and remained a ‘naïve’ artist.
