Þórsmörk Nature Reserve
Þórsmörk is a beautiful nature reserve, a valley that was named after the Norse god Thor (Þór). It is situated between three glaciers: Mýrdalsjökull, Eyjafjallajökull and Tindafjallajökull. This leads to an especially warm climate, better than in the rest of south Iceland. To get there you must pass rough mountain tracks and cross unbridged glacial rivers.
In Þórsmörk you can choose among variety of hiking routes with breathtaking views and a unique nature experience. There are many hiking trails through valleys with birch trees, glacial rivers, streams and wonderful mountain scenery.
