Board of Harbor and Land Commissioners Maps
These maps were produced by the Board of Harbor and Land Commissioners of Massachusetts, a state agency active in the late 1880s and early 1900s, and detail the borders and conditions of rivers, harbors and other bodies of water across Massachusetts.

The digitization of these photographs was made possible by the "Mapping Massachusetts: the History of Transportation in the Commonwealth" grant awarded to the State Library of Massachusetts by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. More images from this grant project can be viewed in the "Hoosac Tunnel" set and the "Highway Photographs" set.
