Boston Public Garden, Credit: Tim Grafft/MOTT
The Public Garden, America's first botanical garden, is the decorative and delicate neighbor to the open, practical space of the Boston Common. Meandering paths lead past a vast, colorful array of flowers and foliage and a plethora of fountains, monuments, and statues - and, of course, the duck pond where Boston's famous, family-operated Swan Boats can be seen lazily floating in the summer.
