Just Around Next Corner

This was what my guide, Cis, said was her favourite alley in Oxford, and I could see her point. The pleasing old stone walls, the Narnia style lampposts, the windows above peering down at the walkers scurrying along their shortcuts.

So many high stone walls in Oxford - not even the obvious ones guarding cloisters and colleges, but around every spare patch of ground and garden. I reckoned that it was locals defending themselves against 1000 years old students getting drunk and vomiting in their back gardens, but what do I know?

composition draws me in inexorably, it causes the curiosity for what's around the bend. i also enjoyed your historical reckoning.
