Lightning strike on tulip poplar

    Newer Older

As the title says, this is the result (part of it -- there was more on up the tree) of a lightning strike, presumably at the top of this tulip poplar tree in Upstate South Carolina. I'm glad I wasn't in it . . .

This is a good-sized tree, about a yard/meter in diameter at the base.
