BRM P25 1956 Formula One Racing Car and Team
A reminder of what Formula One was once like.
This is the prototype of the BRM 1956 Formula One car. In the picture are the team manager, founder, 2 drivers (of the 3 used that season). Mike Hawthorn later won the world championship (with another team). Raymond Mays and A F Rivers Fletcher were both highly influential in british motor sport.
Standing, Left to Right: Basil Putt (Team Manager), Mike Hawthorn (Driver and later world champion), Tony Brooks (Driver), Peter Berthon (Designer), Tony Rudd (Designer), Raymond Mays (team founder), A.F. Rivers Fletcher (PR Officer for the Owen organisation, BRM's owners).
I believe the car is the prototype 2.5litre BRM P25.
Taken at Folkingham (test track at the airfield, near Bourne, Lincolnshire) 7 April 1956 by my late father.
