2005-12-16-001_1 London River Thames Stormy sky view downstream from Hammersmith Bridge
A view downstream from Hammersmith Bridge, I note that it's timed at 10:30 ish, which was probably correct, however it was near mid winter which accounts for the low Sun.
I've always wanted to take this shot again with just slightly better conditions, particularly with more water in the river; I think it could look really good. However, coordinating the sky and floods with being around in this part of Hammersmith at about 10:30 AM in December has not proved possible! I will keep on trying though.
This photo is taken from Hammersmith Bridge; it's a suspension bridge and the deck bounces considerably. This leaves two options, to use a very fast shutter in order to minimise motion blur, or accept that the shot can only be taken from one or other of the two piers which are more stable. There's more to putting a photo together than people sometimes think!
