This shows the size of a typical high resolution M-100 Mastcam mosaic in context (color section). It wouldn't be possible to take a complete high-resolution color mosaic every day (or rather, it wouldn't be possible to get all the images back to Earth); that's why there's black and white Navcam to cover large areas. Then the narrower-angle color Mastcams can focus in on areas of particular interest. The rover's arm turret moved between taking the Navcam and Mastcam images.
