Macro of a seashell at 4:1 magnification.
I hadn't done any macro work in a while and I thought I'd try something different for a change. My good friend galo/* had lent me his Pentax bellows and it was high time I put it to the test. My setup was the following:
Canon EOS 5D + M42 to EOS adapter + Pentax Bellows + Super Takumar 50mm f/1.4
I set the Takumar (manual lens) to f/16, to allow me a couple millimeters worth of depth-of-field. It was too dark to focus though and I had to use a flashlight to assist me in focusing. The actual lighting of the photo was done by my Canon Speedlite 430EX flash, camera left, manually set at 1/8 power, fitted with a Lumiquest Mini Softbox. ISO was set at 200 and the shutter speed at 1/200sec.
