At last!

    Newer Older

    Two-tailed pasha (Charaxes jasius)

One of the most exotic butterfly species in Europe. As soon as I spotted this one, I started chasing it around until I got satisfying captures. Luckily, although I scared it off lots of times, it kept coming back to perch on the wooden bench. So at last (hence the title of the photo) I managed to get this shot with its wings open! Don't miss the other photo of the underside of the wings, too.

Yessss.... I know that little monster... a friend of mine says that the only way to take pictures of them is using the insecticyde... I was never able to take a Jasium (farfalla del corbezzolo)... the only one I've taken was dead after fighting vith a wasp...

Ah my Holy Grail of Butterflies!!! I am longing to get some shots of these as they are truly stunning (as your shot here admirably demonstrates).

I have only seen one once, I got a shot but it was about 15 feet up a Pine tree :(

Thanks for sharing this, and for joining the Greek Butterflies group. I look forward to more great shots from you :)

      Regards
      Matt
