    Two-tailed pasha (Charaxes jasius)

One of the most exotic butterfly species in Europe. As soon as I spotted this one, I started chasing it around until I got satisfying captures. Luckily, although I scared it off lots of times, it kept coming back to perch on the wooden bench.
Don't miss the other photo of the top of the wings.

The Charaxes are such a wonderful genus - your photo shows us why. I can only imagine the thrill this one gave you. I have read that they are really fond of over ripe fruit if you should find one again - it might be an opportunity for a deeper photographic study. Very nice photo.

Congratulations for a fine image of this gorgeous species. I've been trying to get some shots of this one myself as I am often in Rodos - no luck yet but I will keep trying!
