It seems they suddenly abandoned this place, the cars are still in the middle, an impressive place

It's amazing to think, but if this was abandoned during the disaster, then these carts have been sat there for 20 years untouched? I'm amazed nothing was looted or stolen in all that time.

AND THEY SAY NUCLEAR POWER IS SAFE AND THE WAY OF THE FUTURE! Yeah right. A solution to gasoline and coal? Oh, SURE!! Don't read the reports of Strontium-90 turning up in peoples bones who live near nuclear power plants! Dont be concerned that Nuclear plants simply burn equipment and protective gear that is radioactive, spreading into the atmosphere worldwide! And lets not forget about the radio active waste it creates that will last for 100,000's if not MILLIONS of years polluting ground water tables for thousands of miles!

What an image, very post apocoliptic.
The rides at the fair including these and the ferris wheel were never used, the area was evacuated on 27th April 1986 and were due to open on 1st May 1986 but were left abandoned. These had probably only just been set up before the evacuation.
The ferris wheel apparently was one of the worst hit areas in terms of radiation.
