Get Outside and Go Walking (Congaree National Park)
A forested setting along the Bluff Trail in Congaree National Park not long after leaving the visitor center area. It was at this point that I came across this spot with the trail to my front where the sun was somewhat coming through the canopy of tree leaves. I decided to take advantage of that in order to not have the sun be too bright and blow any highlights, while still being able to later pull out the shadowed areas in post-processing. But the real focus of this image (other than just being a beautiful setting) was closing down on the aperture to f/18 on my Nikon SLR camera in order to bring out the distinct starburst look with the sun.
For post-production work, I then worked with control points and color control points in Capture NX2 to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted. I finally added a Foliage and Sunshine CEP filter to give that little bit extra for the final image.
