'Warmi'
NR30 was one of two NR class locomotives to carry aboriginal artwork between 1997 and 2007. NR30 was named 'Warmi' or the snake and is seen with the northbound Ghan from Adelaide to Alice Springs near Mallala on 21 July 2001. John Moriarty of Balarinji Design was commissioned to do the artwork - he was also responsible for the aboriginal artwork that adorned several Qantas 747s. It's a pity they insisted on the NR 'diamonds' being retained on the front.
