More Eyre Peninsula nostalgia

With the expected demise of most of the Eyre Peninsula 1067mm (3'6") narrow gauge network at the end of May 2019, I've been digging out a few transparencies from previous visits.

On 3 February 1992, Australian National's Alco DL531 871 was about to depart the remote silo location at Penong with a loaded grain for Thevenard.

The Penong line would survive another 5 years before closure in March 1997, while 871 gave many more years service on the Eyre Peninsula, finally falling foul of the scrapper's torch in March 2019.
