Located on the broad gauge 'cross-country' line from Ouyen to Tailem Bend, Cowangie was another unremarkable whistle stop though for many years there was a regular flow of stone traffic to Geelong In Victoria.


On Saturday 22 April 1995, Clyde-Built EMD-powered unit A77 waits with loaded hoppers prior to heading back to Geelong (see comments below).


I normally would not have ventured this far for a solitary working like this, but its presence coincided with a number of diverted freight trains using the route as a result of gauge conversion work on the Adelaide to Melbourne main line.
