After the Drink

    Newer Older

    Another Mockingbird shot. Sorry ;)
In this shot, the bird has just got a drink, and made a hard left.
As I said in my last post of this bird "The Getaway", these birds are fun to watch.
Today I observed the young males attack significantly larger birds, the blue jay and doves here. They come at em' quick & hard, then make a fast get away..
I got close on those, but no cigar :/
I like the water that's flying about the bird in this one. Also, the background is naturally sloped left.
    F/6.3, 1/2000th, ISO 640, Canon 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + 1.4x ext and natural early morning light. 20% crop

This shows the wonderful detail on the extended wing and the droplets frozen in mid air are impressive as is the Mocking bird.

You know I think your work can't get better and then you go do something like this!

The effect you have captured is superb and it feel like I am there with you on the shoot. Glorious sharpness that is the envy of many and I would be so proud of this as I am sure you are.

The water drops are perfect. You star Howard!

Very interesting uptrend in this bird, Howard. Very sharp and contrasts well with the background with the minor exception of the beak somewhat blending in.

Excellent capture of this very common bird, I do not have much photo wise on smaller birds in flight as they are very hard to frame and follow
