Black is the Color of my Voice
Black is the Color of my Voice is a one-woman show written and performed by Apphia Campbell, based on the life of Nina Simone. It was an absolutely brilliant performance to a packed house (sold out). The drama, the singing, the story-telling, the emotions were all captivating, and I think everyone was impressed with the high quality portrayal of the troubled and passionate singer and activist. There were lots of questions asked at the Q & A afterwards, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The photos were taken on my iPhone 6, as I didn't want to be too intrusive, so not top quality, but a record of the evening nonetheless.
