castles in the mist and ladders to the sky

    Newer Older

Oh man, it's ladders to the sky,
    Building up a high-rise.
Oh man, we won't last long,
But we're giving it our best try.
    Don't you know you're alive?
    You know you're alive.

Music Monday today features We Are The Tide by Blind Pilot.

And actually, this was not a castle but rather a well-formed pile of stones, found while hiking at Silver Star Mountain last Fall. But it does lead the mind to imagining things, doesn't it?

I'll probably continue to be a bit scarce on Flickr. I still take time to upload two or three times per day, but I haven't been writing nearly as much to go with my posts (usually) and I tend to get around to commenting and answering emails twice weekly or so. And that, I think, is a good balance for me. The weather is ripe for hiking and running and biking, there are good books to be read... and perhaps most excitingly, there are books to be written. I finally feel as though the ideas in my head for a book have come along enough to write them down (and a once-weekly Writer's Block meeting has helped immensely), and therefore I'm spending more time forming sentences into chapters and a bit less time editing photos.

Image made with my Hasselblad 500 C/M.

Danielle, I am pleased to hear that you are writing. It is one of your greatest gifts in my humble opinion. It is always great being able to enjoy a quality photograph, but even better knowing that there is a motivation or a story behind it. Combined excellence for those of us that enjoy both :)))

I agree. It is interesting that a well formed pile of stones can lead us to believe we're seeing a castle, especially through fog or cloud. Well done here, Danielle. Lovely colour in the foreground leaves.

You do what feels right for you. I'm certainly behind your decision to put words to paper and have a book come of it. Best wishes, Danielle.

A wonderful colorful image, one can feel the atmosphere and moisty air. Liked the song too, especially the drums.
