And if your strife strikes at your sleep
Remember spring swaps snow for leaves
You'll be happy and wholesome again
When the city clears and sun ascends
~Mumford and Sons, "Winter Winds"
I'm now two-thirds of the way through a three-weekend, and I'm not going to lie... it's been fantastic. Yesterday featured a trip to Astoria, with gorgeous partly-cloudy weather. I stopped in to the see the show at Lightbox Photographic and then camped at Fort Stevens overnight in the comfiest-ever sleeping bag and awoke for sunrise. I love sunrise on the Pacific, as the first part of the coast to catch the light are the tops of the waves, and they sparkle and dazzle as their tops curl and break into the deep blue sea.
Then a lovely walk today with a new acquaintance, and a few hours spent baking a Chocolate and Hazelnut Meringue Cake with Katie. The cake probably would have only taken around an hour and a half to make... but we spent three hours on it, as every step was documented in photographs. Heh.
And tomorrow I'll be headed to the tulips... looking very much forward to that.
Image made with a Hasselblad 500 C/M... and goodness, I love this one. The delicate white blossoms with little yellow centers, swimming in that green bokeh... spring, I can't get enough of you.
