He glanced back at the wall. How like a mirror, too, her face. Impossible; for how many people did you know who reflected your own light to you? People were more often--he searched for a simile, found one in his work--torches, blazing away until they whiffed out. How rarely did other people's faces take of you and throw back to you your own expression, your own innermost trembling thought? ~Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451
I've wanted to share these images from the Seattle Library for some time. I spent a few hours there one afternoon last Fall, wandering up and down the floors, in and out of the rows. The "kah-klunk!" of the Hasselblad firing is honestly a little loud for a library, and I think I winced with each frame. Just a little.
And, books! Books, books, books. One of the great loves of my life. This book in particular, and so many more by Ray Bradbury. Fantasy, dystopian and sci-fi in general... I adore them.
Gotta go... all this talk about books makes me want to go read!
