a fraction of a snow day
I love snow for the same reason I love Christmas: It brings people together while time stands still. Cozy couples lazily meandered the streets and children trudged sleds and chased snowballs. No one seemed to be in a rush to experience anything other than the glory of the day, with each other, whenever and however it happened. ~ Rachel Cohn, "Dash & Lily's Book of Dares"
This is not an image from today, but I'm choosing to post it today as we actually received a bit of snow in Portland. I was sitting at my computer when I felt the light from the windows fade, and looked over to witness a frenzy of flakes throwing their bodies in crazed form to the ground. I bounded outside with a camera, but unfortunately the flurry only lasted another five minutes.
This was taken a number of years ago, with a Nikon FM, from the north side of the St. Johns Bridge.
