everything the light touches
I'm not sure this image packs the punch that some of my other images do, but I like it for the moment it was. The Burroughs Mountain Trail at Mt. Rainier was cold that morning, and up until this point we had been climbing with our bodies tilted into the blowing wind, brushing the driving snow flurries from our faces, just putting one foot in front of another. But then the trail topped out, and we found ourselves in a misty sea of rocks and lichens. As we approached the other side of the mountain, the sun broke though and illuminated the base of Mt. Rainier. The combination of clouds and light was quite beautiful, and as we descended, we climbed fully into the light.
