whose woods these are
I cannot look at this image without thinking of Robert Frost's poem, "Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening". In particular: The only other sound's the sweep // Of easy wind and downy flake.
This was taken a long time ago, with my Zero Image 2000 Pinhole, at Mt. Rainier. What a moody day that was, so still and beautiful and also possessing an underlying current of warning. While it was gorgeous, I wouldn't want to get stranded in such a place without the proper preparations.
Just wanted to thank everyone for the lovely comments so far. Interestingly enough, I initially passed on scanning this negative. It took a second trip a year later through my stored negatives to convince me it was worth editing. If I recall, this was actually shot on Velvia slide film!
