a place to settle the soul.
"I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in." ~John Muir
Scenes like these tend to make me catch my breath and trip over my own feet in wonderment. I am far more satisfied - sometimes, actually, a bit awed - when I am able to capture this kind of scene as opposed to that of a flashy sunset or sunrise. Such a place as this - Ecola State Park - has a life and heart of its own. It seems less a landscape, and more an intimate portrait of a place.
