This shot is actually from last year, but it's almost time again this year - time, that is, for the cherry trees to blossom along Waterfront Park. I went for a run down here yesterday and found the trees in "full bud" with a few scattered blossoms per tree. So probably not today, and maybe not tomorrow, but they should be in full bloom this coming week.
There are two little trees right next to the Steel Bridge that are bloomed out early... I stood on tiptoe and brought the blossoms down to my nose and inhaled the sweet smell of Spring... ah. Yes, for me, it is more about the experience - the scent, the soft touch of the petals, the sensory experience of bright green grass underfoot and rich pink blossoms above - than it is about the photographs.
Taken with my Zero Image 2000.
