Online News, Italian Style
The tackiness of Italian online newspapers is paramount. The local newsmedia sell out completely to advertising - often creating unintended hilarious results (e.g. car manufacturers "sponsoring" the massacre of Italian soldiers in Afghanistan). It's hard to discern between information and advertising on the online versions of La Repubblica ( and Il Corriere della Sera ( It could be argued that the Italian newsmedia perfectly mirrors the political and social situation of the country.
