The hills behind Purmamarca are astonishing. I climbed up the loose, crumbly hillside a little bit to try to give better context to the road, but it was really too steep and slippery for my ordinary shoes so I did not get very high. Actually, it felt a little risky even at this relatively low vantage point. It often frustrates me how VR panos are not able to convey steepness directly down. The most risky vantage points seldom seem at all dangerous to the viewer. I guess that is just the reality of fixed-position monocular vision.

Anyway, Purmamarca is an absolutely gorgeous place, standing out in a region that is filled with breathtaking desert scenery.
