This shoot was more of a technical exercise than anything else but the landscape added more depth and character than I hoped. One could impute an 'alien' theme to the pic but there was no forethought of that.
The reason for doing it was to start to create my career destination, doing now what I want to be doing in the future, so that when that future arrives, I'll be ready for it. I'm embarrassed by such a cold, business-like attitude, but essentially, photography is a business and one has to be realistic. I'm only beginning to even think about how to 'heave my heart into my images', to paraphrase Shakespeare's Cordelia.
Lighting-wise, there was an sb900 on a boom above the car and another on the far side, illuminating the quarry face. My only excuse for blowing out the highlights is that I hadn't yet worked out how to use TTL.
