H. Lawrence Saddler at Mallala, 1870s

Every household living in the Mallala community would need to shop here. For those who lived in the town a horse drawn vehicle was the means of transport and the saddler made and sold the necessary accessories worn by horses when pulling a vehicles. The farmers required other types of equipment

which would be worn by horses when pulling farm implements.

The building was situated on the corner of Wasleys Road and Gawler Road and over the century was used by the owners to operate a variety of businesses. Its final use was a private residence and then it was purchased by the District Council of Mallala. The building has been demolished.
