Lenin... with mittens!

    Newer Older

A bronze Slovakian statue of Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov with a very large pair of red acrylic guerrilla-knit mittens. They were knit especially for him and placed on his cold hands in the dead of Thanksgiving night.

To give you an idea of Lenin's dimensions: his bronze hat has a circumference of 6 feet -- nearly 2 metres! What a big fun guy!

You probably know this already, but Rose White uses this shot (or one very very like it) in her talk at the 24th Chaos Communication Congress (24C3) on "The History of Guerilla Knitting". When she gets to this slide the audience cheer :-) There's a BitTorrent download of the talk available, it's a great talk, worth downloading BitTorrent and an MKV player for!
