looking up at treehouse.

The holes visible along the lower edge of the photo are gaps in the lava where you can see into the lava tube or bubble out of which grow the trees supporting the house. This bubble collapsed long long ago, as the trees growing out of it are already decades if not centuries old. Ohias are extremely slow growing - in the eight years we have lived here, it is impossible to discern growth in the mature ohias.
