A Legacy of Books and Documents
The traces of the Jewish presence in China during the modern period consist of communal buildings in the old sites (especially Harbin, a city currently engaged in revisiting its Jewish past), of individual and family memories, and of documents and books preserved in archives throughout the world. The Magnes is proud of its numerous holdings that document this unique historical experience.
