1936 Mercedes 500K Work In Progress
I'm building this for this month's LUGNuts challenge. It is actually a competition, involving building a dream car. I'm not much of a dreamer and figured that my normal bog standard cars don't stand much of a chance. However, the Mercedes 500K Special Roadster struck me as suitable. It's a classic, it's extremely rare, and it's rather different from any of the other cars that I've built in at least a decade. I probably could build a more accurate and impressive model if I were to choose a bigger scale, but this way, if anything, I'll end up with a nice new addition to my LEGO car collection.
So, why is this still a work in progress? It looks done, right? Apart from the seat back and steering wheel there is no interior. There are also a few things that don't fit properly yet, the internal structure isn't finished, there is no engine, there are no exhausts, the bonnet is held on with a temporary construction and I haven't included the vents in the sides of the nose yet (they probably will have to be stickers).
