1966 Ford Galaxie (2)

I'll be brutally honest: I doubt I'd have built a Galaxie if it weren't for this challenge. It's not a particularly interesting car and poses a few problems on this scale that I'd normally like to avoid. The 1966 model in particular has a split front grille that is probably quite easy to replicate on a much larger scale, but that gave me trouble. I chose to make represent the two separate parts simply by two layers of dark bley jumper plates.

The 1966 model also has indicator lights mounted on either side of the grille, which are represented by four trans clear 1x2 tiles on my model.

Even though I had my doubts, I think it turned out nicely and it fits well into my Lego car collection. I'll hang on to this one for a while.
